mxmlcleaner now available as an eclipse plugin

I’ve been working on mxmlcleaner, which is a utility to allow you to tidy mxml files. Currently there is a ruby script available and an Ant Task. I’ve now just added an eclipse plugin. The functionality of the plugin is slightly different. It only gives you the option to clean and organise mxml namespaces. The reason for this is that the new Flashbuilder has added support for organising imports within mxml files.

To install, download the following jar: com.adobe.ac.namespacecleaner_1.0.0.jar. Copy the jar into the plugins folder of your eclipse installation then boot up eclipse.

To use, just right click an editor that contains an mxml file, you’ll see a menu option called AC Utils and within that you’ll see “Tidy mxml namespaces”.

I have tried to use it in my Eclipse with Flash Builder 4 (251866) and I just don’t get the option at all. Does the plugin only work with Flex Builder 3?

Great work anyway, very useful, thanks!

    Hi Pascualin,
I tested it with eclipse 3.4 with FlexBuilder 3.0.2. I’ll test it here with FlashBuilder 4 Beta 2 and get back to you.

    Hi,
Just tried it on Eclipse 3.4 // FB4 (253292) and it worked. What version of eclipse are you running?
I’ll also test it on my mac.
